Recipe: Scrambled eggs by Gordon Ramsay

A good breakfast can set you up for a happier, positive day ahead. While being in quarantine, I learned how to make Gordon Ramsay’s Scrambled Eggs recipe that has been watched over 40 million times on YouTube.
You may think that everybody knows how to scramble eggs, so why bother following this particular recipe? True, anybody can scramble eggs, but making a creamy, fluffy scramble requires a bit of technique.
This recipe by Gordon Ramsay is for regular scrambled eggs. I modified it by adding truffle paste and cooking cream to make Truffled Scramble Eggs.
Truffled Scrambled Eggs
- 3 cold eggs
- 10 grams butter
- 1 tbsp crème fraîche/cooking cream
- 1 tsp truffle paste
- salt and pepper (as per taste)
-
Crack 3 cold eggs into a deep saucepan.
-
Add the butter.
-
Put the pan on high heat.
-
Stir continuously with a rubber spatula—don't whisk—making sure to scrape the bottom of the pan.
-
After 30 seconds, take the pan off the heat. Keep stirring. After about 10 seconds, put back on the heat. Repeat for 3 minutes.
-
In the last minute, season the eggs lightly. For an extra creamy texture, stir in 1 tsp of crème fraîche/cooking cream.
-
Serve with a side of toast and grilled mushrooms.
